A brief retelling of the plot of the Ninth Planet is somewhat painfully reminiscent of "Remember Everything" with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. However, during the course of the film, it is noticeable that the creators of his world film fiction know and love: the raid of SUVs in the desert makes you think of Mad Max, huge mechanical spiders are clearly closely related to the arachnids from Starship Troopers, and tanks for intelligent flesh successfully functioned in The Matrix and Johnny Mnemonics.
