In Yaroslavl, law enforcement officers began checking after the publication of a video allegedly showing a mother abusing her three-year-old daughter. The girl was removed from her family and placed in a specialized institution. This was announced on August 26 in the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Yaroslavl region.
"The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia has requested a report on the progress of the criminal investigation into the commission of illegal acts against a minor in Yaroslavl," the agency said in a statement on the Maks messenger.
CCTV footage posted on local social networks shows a woman in the entrance of an apartment building on Papanina Street, in the Zavolzhsky district of the city, rudely treating a child, shaking and hitting her, and then knocking over a stroller. At the same time, she, according to the publication of the Internet portal 76.ru , shouted insults at the girl.
After the recording was distributed, the police identified the woman. She is 45 years old. Employees of the juvenile affairs unit and representatives of the investigative authorities arrived at the scene.
"Due to being in an environment that poses a threat to life and health, the girl was transferred by police officers to a specialized institution, where she will be provided with proper care until the end of the check on this fact," the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to local social media, the girl has a disability and cannot walk on her own. The Investigative Committee also took control of the situation. The SU IC of Russia in the Yaroslavl region reported on the investigation of a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Torture").
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the acting head of the regional department to submit a report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances of the incident.
