A 60-year-old man was detained in the Pskov region, who had undeclared luxury clothes and perfumes worth almost 1 million rubles in his luggage. This was announced on Wednesday, August 26, according to the press service of the regional customs.
The violator was stopped while passing through the Shumilkino automobile checkpoint on the Russian-Estonian border. The citizen was traveling from Cyprus to Russia, writes 78.ru .
Among the tourist's personal belongings, the inspector found clothes from the British luxury brand Agent Provocateur and expensive American Tom Ford perfumes.
The Russian claimed that he was taking his girlfriend's belongings to St. Petersburg. These are women's underwear, shoes, stoles, caps, skirt, dresses, pajamas, corset, swimwear and toilet water. According to him, the entire wardrobe is second-hand.
The examination found that all the items are new and their cost is 925 thousand rubles. At the same time, the import of goods worth more than 500 euros into the territory of the EAEU is allowed only if they are required to be declared with payment of customs duties.
An administrative case has been initiated against the attacker under Part 1 of Article 16.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Non-declaration of goods subject to customs declaration". He faces a fine of half to twice the value of the items, as well as their possible confiscation.
