At least 14 newborns died in a fire at the gynecological department of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad. This was reported on August 26 by the Pakistani Geo News television channel, citing sources.

"At least 14 newborns died as a result of a fire in the maternity ward of the gynecological department of the hospital. The fire started after an explosion of the air conditioner compressor inside the maternity ward," the text of the publication says.
