The expert named the main signs of fraud when buying a car from Europe.

Car buyers from Europe should be wary if an intermediary offers too low a price, does not disclose information about themselves and requires an advance payment. This was announced on August 26 by Alla Khrapunova, deputy head of the project of the Popular Front for Borrowers' Rights.

"Photos of beautiful high—budget models with very low prices and price ranges that do not meet market benchmarks should raise doubts," the expert said in an interview with TASS.

Khrapunova recommended checking information about the dealer and not agreeing to a deal under pressure.

On August 14, the press service of the UserGate information security company (uFactor) said that cybercriminals began using real contracts and bank details of companies when selling used cars imported from Europe. According to experts, scammers attract customers through social media by offering cars from Europe at a discounted price. Potential buyers are told that the car is allegedly located at the customs site on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border, and are offered to check the company's details on their own.
