A German aerial bomb weighing 250 kg was destroyed in Crimea.

A German World War II bomb was eliminated in Crimea. The ammunition was discovered during excavation work on the open territory of the Museum of the History of Defense of the Ajimushkai quarries, the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

Experts have established that the find is an SD-250 high-explosive fragmentation aerial bomb with thick walls weighing 250 kg. The hull was made strong enough to break through obstacles before an explosion.

Before removing the dangerous object, rescuers warned 12 nearby streets about the upcoming work. At the time of the operation, 223 people were evacuated.

Next, the aerial bomb was taken to a special landfill, where it was destroyed by pyrotechnics in compliance with the necessary precautions. 16 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and five pieces of equipment took part in the process.
