Lantratova pointed to the "demonization" of Western-made children's toys
The positive characters in Western-made children's toys and cartoons have been replaced by characters with external and internal flaws. This was stated to the Izvestia correspondent on August 25 by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Yana Lantratova.
"It's just an information war, but that's exactly how they treat it, as a matter of national security. And they often instill in us alien values that destroy us, well, unfortunately. Therefore, it is necessary to support domestic producers here, and, in fact, this is an important topic," Lantratova said.
According to the Ombudsman, modern characters are often depicted with fangs, horns and bruises. Lantratova believes that such images can frighten children and negatively affect their condition.
She noted that in the 1990s, good and evil characters were also present in children's products, but the plot model was based on the victory of good over evil. Among the modern heroes with unusual looks, Lantratova mentioned characters from "Monsters Corporation", "The Grinch" and "Shrek".
In her opinion, over time, this approach has developed into the "demonization of children's toys." The Ombudsman also stated that a significant part of such goods are produced by foreign companies.
Lantratova called for support for Russian manufacturers of children's products, saying that foreign countries at the same time limit the distribution of Russian children's products.
Clinical psychologist Kira Makarova said on August 16 that wanting to give children something they themselves did not have, parents often go to extremes — they buy toys on credit, protect them from worries and avoid prohibitions. As a result, a manipulator grows up in the family, convinced that the world owes him. According to her, the rejection of the word "no" because of the desire to compensate for their childhood deficits leads to the fact that the child ceases to understand the boundaries. In psychology, this is called a "monster child" - when everything is subordinated to him.
