Insults and threats from a supervisor or his subordinates are an independent offense, including if they come in response to an employee's publication on social networks. Alexander Asmirko, a lawyer at Chervets.Partners, told Izvestia about this.

According to the expert, administrative liability is provided for insults under Article 5.61 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, criminal liability for threats under Article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and in addition, the victim has the right to demand compensation for moral damage in a civil manner based on Articles 151 and 1101 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.

"If insults or threats are received from an employer, including officials subordinate to this employer, in response to a publication, this is an independent offense," Asmirko explained.

In addition, the injured employee has the right to demand compensation for moral damage. Such a requirement is considered in a civil procedure on the basis of Articles 151 and 1101 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
