The anniversary festival "Russian Field" gathered guests from 62 regions of Russia

This year, the Interregional Creative Festival of Slavic Art "Russian Field", dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, attracted more than 156.5 thousand visitors, and the online broadcast gained over 19.2 million views.

On August 22, National Flag Day, thousands of Muscovites and guests of the capital gathered in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora to get acquainted with folk traditions, cultural initiatives and creative projects from different regions of Russia.

In the jubilee year, 192 artisans and 13 commodity producers, 15 gastronomic brands, 35 designers, 70 creative teams and 20 poets and readers gathered at the festival.

The guests of the Russian Field Festival were greeted from the main stage by Vitaly Suchkov, Head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of Moscow, and Daria Borisova, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Duma, Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Public Associations and Religious Organizations, Director of the AVANGARD Educational and Methodological Center for Military-Patriotic Education of Youth.

Vitaly Suchkov, Head of the Moscow Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations, read out the greeting of the Mayor of Moscow to the participants of the Russian Field Festival: "For a decade and a half, the festival has grown into a major event in Moscow's cultural life, and Muscovites and guests of the capital have come to love it. In the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the festival acquires special significance. Art brings us closer, and this clearly shows the great interest in the creative venues located in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora. Performances by folklore groups, demonstrations of national rituals, workshops on folk crafts, an art fair, tasting of national dishes, ancient games and comic contests - these and other events carry the beauty of Slavic art, create a sincere and cheerful atmosphere of a city holiday."

Online broadcast of the main programme of the festival looked residents in more than 112 countries, including Russia, USA, Singapore, Germany, China, the Netherlands, Sweden, Seychelles, UK, France, Finland, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and others. Thanks to the broadcasts, the audience coverage has increased. Over the past 15 years, 99,068,057 people have visited and watched the festival.

The central event of the festival was the setting of two gastronomic records at once. For the first time in history, the world's largest bread map of Russia was created — measuring 7.8 x 4.3 meters, on which 89 regions presented their traditional bakery products: Tula gingerbread and Moscow saika, rye bread with coniferous flour from the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Karelian flatbreads, Chuvash khura sakar and seaside steamed buns pan-se. The map occupied 33.5 sq. m.

The second record was the preparation of the world's largest porridge "Unity of Peoples", which consisted of 38 ingredients imported from different regions of the country. Among them: three types of meat from the Tambov, Penza regions and the Republic of Bashkortostan; 10 cereals; vegetables — pumpkin, onion, Yalta onion, carrot, garlic — from the Volgograd, Astrakhan, Moscow, Tula regions and the Republic of Crimea. In addition, dried apples and prunes, pine nuts, porcini mushrooms and champignons from Kabardino-Balkaria, Siberia, Ryazan, Omsk, Kursk regions and yagel from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug were added to the porridge. Her weight was 1902.6 kg. After the official record-setting, porridge and bread from the card were distributed free of charge to everyone.

The gastronomic experiments did not end there: the culinary marathon "Five Cauldrons — five flavors of Russia" was held in the national cuisine zone. Famous Russian chefs have prepared famous dishes from five regions — pearl barley porridge with hare and porcini mushrooms, Tatar-style pasta, Buryat soup "Buchler", Yakut porridge "Salamata" and Crimean lamb smoke.

This year, for the first time, the Power of Traditions competition was held at the new Polyane of Traditions festival site, a unique stage performance where the audience saw live reconstructions of ancient rituals from different parts of Russia. The Arkhangelsk region with the recruitment ceremony "Send-off to recruits", the Astrakhan region with the "Send-off of Astrakhan fish catchers", the Bryansk region with the ceremony of weaving a maiden's wreath, the Vladimir region with the wedding ceremony "Give us a girl", the Vologda region with the northern wedding ceremony, the Kirov region with the "Trinity on Vyatka", the Republic of Karelia with the wedding ceremony "Knees", the Republic of Mari El with "Vyner oshemdymash" ("Bleaching the canvas"), the Udmurt Republic with gatherings "Korka Mynon", the Ulyanovsk region with the ritual action "Trinity" and the Chuvash Republic with a fragment of the wedding ceremony of the middle-aged Chuvash.

Poeticheskaya Sloboda has combined poetry and geography this year. The contest "My Land is my Word!" was held here, where poets and reciters from all over Russia presented their works about love for their native land. The program included a master class by poets from the Moscow Regional branch of the Writers' Union of Russia, a creative meeting with members of the jury - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Shaganov, poets Irina Drokova and Stanislav Churilov, as well as performances by young researchers of the Russian Geographical Society who returned from summer expeditions. Book blogger Alina Bookstar concluded the literary holiday with the program "Literature unites".

A special place in the program was occupied by the Field of Glory site, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Moscow. Interactive expositions with the participation of military-historical reenactors unfolded here: "Field Hospital", "Headquarters of the People's Militia Division", "Artillery crew", "Voroshilovsky Shooter", "Machine-gun crew", "Museum of Uniforms", "Course of a young fighter", "Weapons of the Battle for Moscow" and "Field Mail". All activities were accompanied by comments from history experts.

The Fashion Row site aroused no less interest, where collections of ethnic costumes, modern designer costumes and cultural codes in modern fashion design were shown throughout the day.

The best instrumental and creative groups of the country performed on the stage of the Musical Zavalinka during the day, and in the evening a gala concert of the winners of the Moscow qualifying round of the All-Russian Bayan Soul Festival took place.

The Art quarter of the creative workshop "Russia is our common home" hosted master classes for children and adults: art plein-airs "My Family", the creation of wall newspapers using the technique of applique and painting nesting dolls. A musical and interactive master class was held with the Fortuna Brass pop and jazz ensemble under the direction of Alexander Shatalov, where everyone could try their hand at playing wind instruments. The playground "Children's Fun" delighted the little guests with sports relay races, team tournaments, comic contests and a zone of active games "Boombatl" with the participation of professional animators.

An exhibition and fair of folk art crafts and decorative and applied arts was held at the "Square of the Regions". Craftsmen from all regions of the country presented their unique works, from wood carvings to original ceramics, textiles and jewelry.

One of the most popular points of attraction has traditionally been the main stage at the Musical Square. Russian Russian Field Award ceremony and gala concert of the Bolshoi Russian Choir with the participation of national and honored artists of the regions of the Russian Federation - Alexander Dobronravov, Inna Kameneva, Selim Alakhyarov, Augusta Ulyandina, Ruslan Samozhalov, Norpol Tsydenov, Felix Tsarikati - were held here. Creative teams from different regions of Russia showed their brightest performances., Buranovskiye babushki, Alexey Petrukhin.
