The expert warned about possible frosts in early autumn
In September, frosts are expected in the eastern regions (Magadan region, Yakutia), where they have already begun since mid-August, and in the Moscow region, according to current forecasts, the first frosts are not yet expected. Anatoly Vasilyevich Tsygankov, head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Service's crisis Management Department, told Izvestia about this.
"Frosts are already observed in the Magadan region and Yakutia. Magadan is located on the coast of the cold Sea of Okhotsk. In autumn, storms begin there, the wind increases, navigation is closed. Night frosts are already observed there," he said.
According to the expert, frosts have been observed in the eastern part of Yakutia for about a week: at night, the temperature drops to -2 in some places...-3 degrees.
"Such frosts would be very early for the Moscow region now, although historically the first frosts at the end of August are possible here. So far, we do not see them in the forecasts for the Moscow region," Tsygankov said.
