In the Ulyanovsk region, mothers of elementary school students will be given a day off on September 1.

In the Ulyanovsk region, Knowledge Day will be a day off for employees of state and municipal structures of the Ulyanovsk region, whose children are in elementary school. This was announced on August 24 by the governor of the region Alexey Russian.

"We understand how important it is for parents to be with their child on the first day of school. Therefore, despite the fact that September 1 is Tuesday, we will make it a day off for mothers of students from the first to the fourth grade," he said at a meeting of the headquarters for the integrated development of the region, broadcast by the government of the Ulyanovsk region on VKontakte.

The head of the region added that the decision would be communicated to all heads of state and municipal structures by special order.

"I urge representatives of commercial structures and businesses to consider such an opportunity for their employees," the governor added.

Russian also instructed members of the regional government to visit school lines on Knowledge Day and congratulate teachers and students. The head of the region specified that he would personally visit a number of educational institutions.
