Lvova-Belova spoke about the EP's measures to support families in a single window format

The people's program of the United Russia party implies many measures to support families in a one-stop shop format. Maria Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, told Izvestia about this on August 22.

"It is important for me that the family does not receive disparate support measures — separate payments, access to educational institutions, or the opportunity to employ and retrain mothers after maternity leave. And so that every family, regardless of its location, can receive comprehensive one-stop-shop assistance. And for the state to respond to the challenges that families face," Lvova-Belova said.

In particular, we are talking about providing a set of additional support measures in the event of the birth of another child in the family or another type of assistance when a child with a disability is born.

"Please, when a child with a disability is born, there is the possibility of supporting a social nanny and day care centers. The family of the participants has its own set of measures. We provide other opportunities for single parents. The fact that every family should feel the care of the state is the main idea of the national program of this convocation," Lvova-Belova emphasized.

She added that if earlier the issue of housing support was only about buying housing through maternity capital, family mortgages or programs for young families, now rent compensation or rental benefits are being discussed.

"The next thing is social babysitters. This is support for families of single parents or for families with children with disabilities. Because often the lack of additional hands and strength leads to the fact that children end up in boarding schools, because a single mother cannot cope with the burden that falls on her," explained the Commissioner for the Rights of the Child under the President of Russia.

On August 21, party chairman Dmitry Medvedev said that representatives of United Russia had fulfilled all obligations under the people's program, with which the party won the State Duma elections in 2021. The politician noted that the program has been supplemented with new provisions, taking into account changes in the current situation in Russia. An important condition for its implementation remains a feedback system with citizens and voters.
