A court in Moscow has blocked websites selling exotic wild animals.
Moscow's Chertanovsky Court has blocked Internet resources where exotic wild animals were illegally traded. This follows from the materials reviewed by Izvestia on August 22.
On the websites, anyone was offered to buy spotted hyenas, pygmy monkeys and yellow scorpions. However, keeping such animals at home or using them for private purposes is prohibited in Russia.
It is noted that only specialized organizations have the right to keep these animals — official zoos or animal gardens, where safe conditions are created for them.
In July, the Timiryazevsky Court in Moscow blocked websites that sold Amur and Bengal tigers listed in the Red Book of Russia. It was not explained on the sites that criminal liability was provided for the sale or purchase of wild animals.
