Russian cosmonauts from the International Space Station (ISS) on Saturday, August 22, congratulated their compatriots on the Day of the National Flag of the Russian Federation. They noted that the Russian flag in space is a symbol of the success of Russian scientists and engineers.

"Dear compatriots! We, Roscosmos cosmonauts Peter Dubrov, Anna Kikina and Andrey Fedyaev, congratulate you on the Day of the National Flag of Russia from the ISS. One of the main state symbols of our country is always represented here, at an altitude of more than 400 km above the Earth, on board the ISS," cosmonaut Peter Dubrov addressed the Russians.

He stressed that it is a great honor for each of them to carry this symbol in space.

The flag has become a symbol of overcoming the limits of what is possible, a sign of victory over gravity, and the success of scientists and engineers, noted cosmonaut Anna Kikina.

"He reminds us of where we come from and why we are here, unites our entire vast country from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka and reminds us that wherever we are, the Motherland is always with us. By unfurling our flag outside the Earth, we are honored to represent Russia on the ISS and are part of the great history of space exploration," she said.

Cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev reminded his compatriots that on this day the All-Russian campaign "Raise the Flag" is being held in the country. He noted that they also joined this action.

"Wherever you live, in a large city or a small village, raise the flag, let it become a symbol of unity and pride for our country. And we are here in orbit, mentally with you. May the three colors of our flag remind us of the strength of the spirit and unity of our people. We wish everyone peace, kindness and new heights, both on Earth and beyond," he concluded.

On August 21, the New People party launched the All—Russian campaign "Russia is People" in Chelyabinsk, dedicated to the Day of the National Flag of the Russian Federation. As part of the campaign, interactive photo booths were installed in city parks and public spaces, where anyone could take a festive picture by showing the heart symbol with their hands.
