20 dog boxes have been installed in dog walking areas in Murmansk.

In Murmansk, 20 dog boxes were installed in several public areas. These are specialized outdoor containers with a dispenser for biodegradable bags, the press service of the city administration reports.

Bags for collecting dog waste are made of corn starch and paper, writes the Bi-port news agency. Unlike plastic, the material decomposes in a couple of years.

The installation of dog boxes solves several tasks at once: maintaining cleanliness in parks and squares, creating a culture of pet walking and reducing the risk of conflicts between "dog walkers" and other Murmansk residents.

So, two devices appeared on the embankment of Semenovsky Lake, two more — next to the Walrus House. Three objects were placed in a green area by a Clear stream, two were mounted on Rowan and Musical alleys.

One design was installed in Kola Park, next to house No. 31 on Shabalin Street and on the site next to Lake Ledovoye.

Earlier it was reported that the repair of the central swimming pool will begin in Murmansk in September 2026. The swimmers' training sessions were moved to Kola and Severomorsk.
