Experts in explosives and UAVs told about drones used for sabotage

Various types of drones (UAVs) can be used to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts, as well as reconnaissance of objects. This was announced on August 21 by a leading specialist in the field of forensic explosives of the FSB of Russia.

"Unmanned aerial vehicles have gained huge popularity due to the fact that they are controlled remotely, cause really significant damage to various enterprises, the fuel and energy structure, various enterprises of the defense complex, and the Ukrainian special services really have a choice of different designs," he said.

He noted that similar drones are being manufactured in Europe by order of the special services of the Kiev regime, after which they remain to be assembled and used for their intended purpose in Ukraine. Along with long-range drones with a large mass of charge, FPV drones are used. They can be used for near-range reconnaissance and to obtain up-to-date information before conducting an operation.

According to the expert, the small size of the drones allows them to be assembled directly on the spot. To attract people to such activities, the Ukrainian special services use various messengers, including those banned in Russia, as well as financial dependence and intimidation.

The expert stressed the importance of the active position of citizens. According to him, attention should be paid to suspicious activities near closed enterprises, as well as to the purchase of drones with various capabilities. Such information can help prevent possible sabotage, terrorist attacks, or intelligence activities.

Andrey Gimbatov, the supervisor of the assault squad and the Immortal Stalingrad combat training center, added that drones can be equipped with improvised explosive devices, and more powerful devices can carry anti-tank mines and pose a danger to infrastructure and citizens. He also called for the FSB to be informed about the suspicious use of such drones or their components, including video cameras, flight controllers, transmitters, propellers and motors.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a record number of drones in a day, but the Russian air defense system stood the test of strength.

Earlier that morning, the FSB announced the detention of a foreigner suspected of preparing to launch drones in Moscow. The detainee established contact with the Ukrainian special services through the Telegram messenger. After preparing for the launch of the drone, the man flew to Murmansk for further illegal border crossing. A criminal case has been opened against him under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention.
