- Bailiffs in Khakassia took away the groom and the witness from the wedding because of debts
A wedding photo shoot in Chernogorsk, Republic of Khakassia, ended with a visit by its participants to the bailiff's office, who took the groom and the witness away from the event. This was announced on August 20 by the Office of the Federal Bailiff Service of the Republic of Khakassia.
The bailiffs, appearing at the ceremony, wished the young couple family happiness, and then reminded the groom that along with the new status of the husband, he retains the status of the father of children from previous relationships.
"The man owed two daughters 550 thousand rubles. He was entered in the register of debtors and was wanted for non-fulfillment of parental duties. The citizen has no official job," the agency's website says.
The groom has already been brought to administrative responsibility for non-payment of alimony, and the issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.
The next in the list of debtors was also a non-working witness. His debt to his 12-year-old daughter amounted to 580 thousand rubles. The groom's friend was warned about the consequences of further evasion of parental responsibilities. If the fathers continue to ignore the payments, they face up to one year in prison.
Dmitry Svishchev, a State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party, recalled on June 2 that the absence of an official job does not exempt a parent from the obligation to pay child support. Bailiffs calculate the debt based on the average salary in the country. If a parent is in hiding, they may be put on the wanted list, and the debt will be collected from property, pension, inheritance, or funds from the sale of an apartment.
