- In Kurgan, a foreigner illegally worked as a train driver under the guise of an excursion
In Kurgan, the court imposed a fine on the general director of a contracting organization that provided services to one of the local railway enterprises for illegally employing a foreign citizen. The manager himself tried to convince law enforcement officers that the man had been at the enterprise for 22 days only on a "study tour." This was reported on August 20 in the Department of Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Ural Federal District.
It was established that a 68-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan worked at the enterprise for almost a month as a locomotive driver, without having the necessary patent. The situation became known to law enforcement officers after the foreigner himself contacted the police with a complaint about non-payment of wages for 22 days of work.
"In his defense, the man stated that the foreign citizen allegedly did not work at his company, but simply took a "study tour" for 22 days, which means he did not have to pay him anything," the agency's website says.
By a court decision, the company's director was fined 250,000 rubles.
On August 18, Izvestia found out that Russian companies faced massive fines for not informing them about attracting migrants to work, even if no employment contract had been concluded with them.
