Alexandra Nurieva, co-founder of the Give a Paw social movement, told on Wednesday, August 19, how to prepare a pet for vaccination.

In an interview with Radio 1, the expert warned that the pet needs to be dewormed before vaccination. Parasites reduce immunity, which is why the body's reaction to the vaccine may be more severe and unpredictable. Before vaccination, the animal should also be provided with a calm regime, avoiding stress and long walks.

According to Nurieva, before vaccination, the veterinarian should examine the pet, assess its condition and behavior, and only then make a decision on the administration of the drug. The owner must inform the doctor about all medications that the animal is taking, as vaccination may be postponed for medical reasons. In addition, before vaccination, you should not change the pet's usual diet and lifestyle.

In early August, cynologist and veterinarian Vladimir Urazhevsky, in an interview with RT, said that pets are vaccinated once a year. The date of the next vaccination depends on the date of the previous vaccination, not on the time of the year. Vaccines protect, in particular, against plague, hepatitis, enteritis, leptospirosis, adenovirus, coronavirus and rabies. 360.ru .

In June, the capital's shelters told about the rules of preparation for the appearance of a pet. So, the first and main rule is to get consent for the appearance of a pet from everyone who lives in the apartment. Even one dissenting family member will create constant tension, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

Earlier, Urazhevsky, in an interview with NSN, said that when vaccinating animals in the clinic, it is better to choose a domestic vaccine and not be guided by veterinarians who are trying to "sell" expensive imported ones. He reminded that vaccines and medicines cannot be bought on marketplaces.

The N.F. Gamaleya Center noted the need to develop a domestic genetically engineered rabies vaccine for animals. According to experts, the main distributors of infection are wild animals, which are vaccinated by placing baits with the drug in their habitats.

Before that, biologist and dog handler Irina Makarenkova told kp.ru that the basic vaccines that we usually vaccinate puppies with include: carnivorous plague, adenovirus infection (CAV-1 and CAV-2), parvovirus enteritis, rabies.
