China's passenger car exports to Russia increased by 63% in July
Exports of new passenger cars directly from China to Russia in July this year amounted to 32.7 thousand units, which is 63% more than in July last year. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on August 19.
In just seven months, the volume of automobile exports from China to Russia increased by 21% and reached 161.2 thousand units.
As the expert noted, more than a quarter of car shipments directly from China are provided by individuals. There is also a transit import of cars, including those assembled in China, through Kyrgyzstan.
According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), China's passenger car exports to global markets increased by 88% in July, to 923,000 units. The largest increase (+148%) was provided by cars powered by new energy sources (NEV), the volume amounted to 550 thousand units. These are mainly plug-in hybrids and clean electric vehicles.
In total, from January to July, the total volume of passenger car exports from China increased by 72% million and exceeded 6 million units.
The day before, it was reported that by the end of June this year, the import of passenger cars from Kazakhstan to Russia decreased to almost zero. For this category of goods, imports from Russia per month are estimated in monetary terms at $72. The maximum result since the beginning of 2026 was recorded in April - $5.5 million.
