The choice of St. Petersburg to host a concert by American rapper Kanye West (Ye) in Russia was dictated by the unpredictability of weather conditions in October and the lack of sufficiently large indoor venues in Moscow. This was announced to Izvestia on August 18 by Anna Subcheva, the owner and CEO of the SAY Agency concert agency.

"We originally wanted to build the Luzhniki Stadium, but unfortunately October is such a month with unpredictable weather conditions, when, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that there will be no rain, no sub-zero temperatures or close to sub—zero temperatures," she explained.

The General Director noted that the Gazprom Arena stadium with a roof was chosen for the concert to ensure the comfort of the audience.

According to Subcheva, Russia has been preparing for this event for a long time, but for two years it has not been possible to organize West's performance. At the same time, the news of Ye's arrival in the country is causing a stir among Russians and a response from fans of the performer.

Kanye West's manager Joseph Carre confirmed on August 17 that the American rapper's concerts would be held in St. Petersburg on October 10 and 11. The performances will take place at the Gazprom Arena stadium. Together with the rapper, Andre Trautman, his musical colleague and curator, who participates in the creation of the artist's concert program, will come to the city.

Producer Yana Rudkovskaya, in turn, admitted that West could visit Moscow.
