In Yakutia, in the Oymyakon and Momsky districts, the water level in the Indigirka River may rise to unfavorable levels. There is a rain flood there.

The water level near the settlements of Oymyakon and Honuu will rise in the coming days. According to IA YakutiaMedia with reference to the YAUGMS, by August 20, the level will reach the levels of water outlet to the floodplain and an unfavorable hydrological phenomenon. If the weather worsens, the level will rise above the level of a dangerous hydrological phenomenon.

Forecasters predict that on Tuesday, August 18, light rains will occur in Tomponsky, Oymyakonsky, Abyysky, Momsky and Ust-Yansky districts. Rain and sleet are expected in the Verkhoyansk mountains at night. During the day, the wind will blow on the Arctic coast with gusts up to 19 m/s. When it clears, it is expected to reach -5 degrees in the northeast, and up to +5 degrees on the Arctic coast.

According to meteorologists, the second decade of August will be rainy in the flood-affected Verkhoyansk region. Water levels may rise again.
