The prototype taxi from 1964 was included in the collection of the Moscow Transport Museum

The prototype of the 1964 VNIITE-PT taxi was included in the collection of the Moscow Transport Museum. The car was designed by designer Yuri Dolmatovsky at the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Technical Aesthetics (VNIITE), which in the USSR was responsible for the development of industrial design. This was announced by the Moscow Department of Transport in its Telegram channel on August 17.

The VNIITE-PT model was distinguished by its avant-garde appearance for its time and a number of progressive technical solutions. The body is made of fiberglass panels mounted on a spatial steel frame.

The power unit from the Moskvich-408 with a capacity of 45 hp is located in the rear of the car and is paired with a four-speed gearbox, while the radiator of the cooling system is located in the front. The cabin is designed for four passengers with luggage, and the wide side door with electric drive allows you to easily load a baby carriage.

As Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy Mayor for Transport, noted, VNIITE-PT is considered one of the most well-known domestic developments in the field of transport.
