Data on Russian women who managed to escape from slavery in the Philippines will be transferred to the Interior Ministry and the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ivan Melnikov, vice president of the United Coordinating Center for Support of Compatriots Abroad, told Izvestia on August 16.

Temporary passports for travel to their homeland will be arranged for all victims. Melnikov noted that the situation with the detection of Russians in Southeast Asian countries has recently become quite common. The women are stripped of their passports, threatened, and prevented from going home.

The head of the ECCC noted that the girls were offered to work as models and promised good conditions and money that they could earn — sometimes $ 10-20 thousand.

"When they actually arrive at the place, they can often find themselves, including in brothels, or involved in some illegal schemes," he said.

On August 14, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) of the Philippines reported that six women, including five Russian citizens and a former beauty queen, had been rescued from a network of human traffickers. As a result of the actions of the security forces, a male suspect was detained who, under the guise of providing modeling and escort services, offered women for sexual exploitation.
