Employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of military enlistment offices in Ukraine) Two clergymen of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) were detained in Kiev. This was announced on August 16 by lawyer Nikita Chekman, representing the interests of the UOC.
"Information has just been received about the detention of Metropolitan Sergius of Tulchinsk and Bratslavsky and Archpriest Anatoly Vishnevoy, a cleric of the Tulchinsk diocese," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to the defender, the clergy are currently in the Darnitsky district shopping mall in Kiev, they are undergoing a military medical commission. The circumstances of the detention are being investigated.
On July 31, employees of the Shopping Center abducted a priest of the canonical UOC, Archpriest Maxim Tsarenko. It was noted that the priest was detained near the hospital, he was ill and was undergoing treatment. According to the parishioners of the church, Father Maxim was taken to the territorial recruitment center, after which communication with him was interrupted.
