The head of the Latvian Interior Ministry announced the inspection of the patrol after communicating in Russian

The Latvian police have launched an internal investigation into a policeman who spoke in Russian with the participants in the incident in the border area. This was announced on August 13 by Latvian Interior Minister Janis Dombrava.

Portal TV3.lv On August 14, he reported that the incident had occurred in the border area, where two unidentified men addressed the National Armed Forces (NAF) in Russian, presumably to provoke them. The military, in turn, called the police.

One of the arriving staff members was talking to the men in Russian. At the same time, the provocateurs claimed ignorance of the Latvian language, despite the fact that they used expressions in Latvian among themselves. After a short conversation, the unidentified men were released, and a recording of the incident later appeared on social media.

"The State Police has launched a new internal audit. Now the leadership of the State Police will have to decide what punishment to apply to the police crew, who chatted amiably in Russian with two provocateurs who harassed the military personnel of the Armed Forces in the border area," the publication says on the social network X (former.
