The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were afraid of a stone thrown through a window under the guise of a grenade and surrendered to the soldiers of the Russian Army. This was announced on August 15 by the shooter of the Vostok group of forces with the call sign Sedoy.

"They threw a stone through the window. They shouted, "Grenade!" They jumped out, and there was not a grenade, but just a stone," he told RIA Novosti.

The fighter said that as a result of such a maneuver, three Ukrainian militants jumped out of the window of the house, who were immediately captured. Another Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier tried to escape through the front door of the house, but was eliminated.

On August 5, Roman Ruban, a junior lieutenant from the 35th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that a group of Ukrainian Marines led by him had been captured by Russian soldiers because of false intelligence. According to him, there should have been no Russian soldiers in the area where the Ukrainian militant group was supposed to pass, but when he turned around at the noise, "three machine guns were already looking at him."

On July 24, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces barrage units allegedly used unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to eliminate military personnel who had left their positions near the village of Malaya Slobodka in the Sumy region. According to the agency, we are talking about units of the 104th separate territorial Defense brigade. No other details are provided.
