The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia opened a case after a video of a baby bear feeding

In Ingushetia, the police opened a criminal case after the publication of a video in which, allegedly, a bear is given a snus. The relevant information was confirmed to Izvestia on August 13 by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.

The ministry clarified that after the publication of the video, a criminal case was opened on this fact under Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruelty to animals").

On June 17, the press service of the republic's prosecutor's office announced the start of an inspection after information was discovered on the Internet about the possible feeding of a snus bear cub in a private menagerie.

In an interview with Izvestia on August 8, one of the ex-employees of capybara establishments, Polina, reported that former cafe employees had reported inappropriate animal husbandry conditions and injuries. According to the girl, one of the young capybaras was locked in a cage for two weeks after the animal began to demonstrate "incorrect" behavior when in contact with visitors.
