The court extended the arrest of businessman Traber in the case of the murder of a deputy

Moscow's Basmanny Court has extended the detention of businessman Ilya Traber in the case of the murder of MP Alexander Petrov until October 17. A participant in the trial informed Izvestia about this on August 13.

The businessman is in custody after being charged in June under paragraphs "g" and paragraph "h" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder of two or more persons by an organized group for mercenary motives") and part 4 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal arms trafficking by an organized group").

Izvestia's sources reported on August 10 that the testimony of Igor Lykov, a former Traber driver, played a major role in the criminal case of the murder of a deputy in 2020 in the Leningrad Region. After being captured while participating in a special military operation (SVO), Lykov gave an interview to a blogger, talking about his work with Traber and with the businessman's business partner, Vladimir Danilenko. In 2025, Lykov returned to Russia as part of a prisoner exchange.

On August 5, the court recognized the arrest of Traber's business partner, Vladimir Danilenko, as lawful. Traber was detained on June 17 in St. Petersburg. The businessman was charged. Later, he was taken from St. Petersburg to Moscow for investigative actions in a criminal case of murder. In recent years, Traber has managed port assets in Primorsk and Ust-Luga.
