Accused of murdering a nine-year—old boy in St. Petersburg, Pasha T. - Peter Zhilkin, apologized to the child's mother on August 13, but confused her name. Footage from the court is published by Izvestia.

In his speech, Zhilkin called the woman Klavdia Dmitrievna, but the mother of the deceased child is called Ksenia. He also added that he regrets what he did.

In July, it was noted that the St. Petersburg Prosecutor's office had approved the indictment in Zhilkin's criminal case. The penalty for the crime is imprisonment for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

According to the investigation, in January 2026, the accused committed sexual violence against the child. To hide what he had done, the man blocked the boy's airways with duct tape, after which he took the body by car to the territory of a horticultural association in the Leningrad region.

The boy disappeared in St. Petersburg at the end of January. Then, after his arrest, Zhilkin confessed that he had drowned a child in a local reservoir for allegedly blackmailing him with information about the content of child pornography on a laptop. At the same time, the defendant had previously offered children a ride in his car for money and had a criminal record.

Zhilkin himself told his version of the incident on May 13. According to him, the boy allegedly approached him in the parking lot, after which he ended up in the car. Next, the accused tied up the child and taped his mouth shut, and later discovered that he was not showing signs of life. At the same time, the psychological and psychiatric examination found the man sane. The farewell ceremony for the boy took place on February 11.
