A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of troops defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of the settlements of Balakleya, Pristen, Veseloe, Chervony Stan, Podliman, Petrovka, Kharkiv region, Svyatogorsk, Old Caravan and Mayaki of the DPR. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost over 225 militants, five armored combat vehicles, 14 vehicles, three artillery pieces, a Grad multiple launch rocket system combat vehicle and two electronic warfare stations in this area.

In addition, the Center group of troops took control of the Petrovka settlement in the DPR and defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized, jaeger, assault brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and three National Guard brigades in the DPR and the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to over 355 militants.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces have advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of an assault, two amphibious assault brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade were defeated in areas of settlements <...> in the Dnipropetrovsk region, <...>..> Zaporozhye region. The enemy lost up to 350 soldiers," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated fuel, energy and transport infrastructure facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, logistics centers, assembly shops, storage sites for attack drones and their components, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 149 districts.

In turn, the air defense systems shot down five guided aerial bombs, three HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 1,150 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 206,167 UAVs, 669 anti-aircraft missile systems, 30,566 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,770 multiple rocket launchers, 36,138 field artillery and mortars, 69,169 pieces of special vehicles.
