VK increased revenue in the first half of 2026
According to the results of the second quarter and the first half of 2026, VK recorded an increase in financial indicators in all operating segments, the company maintains its forecast for the current year and expects that net income (EBITDA) by the end of 2026 will exceed 24 billion rubles. This follows from the VK report published on August 13.
In the second quarter, VK's revenue increased by 17% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 43.5 billion rubles. EBITDA increased by 41% to 7.6 billion rubles, and the EBITDA margin increased by 3 percentage points and reached 17%. The company's net profit in the second quarter amounted to 328 million rubles.
Online advertising has become one of the main growth areas. VK's revenue from this segment reached 26.7 billion rubles, an increase of 14% year-on-year and 22% compared to the first quarter of 2026.
According to the results of the first half of 2026, VK's revenue increased by 12% and reached 81 billion rubles. EBITDA increased by 34% to 14 billion rubles, and the margin on this indicator was 17%.
The company also reported an increase in operating cash flow, which reached 15.4 billion rubles in the first half of the year. The volume of funds increased by 51% and amounted to 49.6 billion rubles.
VK's debt burden continued to decrease. Net debt at the end of the first half of the year decreased by 27% compared to the end of 2025 and amounted to 60.2 billion rubles. The ratio of net debt to EBITDA improved to 2.3 from 3.6 at the end of last year.
The company's revenue growth in the first half of the year was driven by several areas. Revenues from online advertising of large businesses increased by 12% and reached 29.1 billion rubles. Revenue from in-stream video advertising increased by 44% to 4.9 billion rubles. The VK Tech business showed a 35% increase, with revenue of 9 billion rubles. Educational services for children increased revenues by 26% to 4.9 billion rubles.
VK also reported an increase in the audience of its services. In the second quarter, the average daily audience increased by 13.2 million users and reached 90.7 million people.
The time that users spend on the company's services has grown to a record 7.8 billion minutes per day, which is 57% higher than in the same period last year. On average, one user uses two VK products daily and spends more than 85 minutes on the company's services.
VK's press service reported on July 27 that AI VK Research researchers have proposed a new approach that allows classical recommendation systems to take into account not only the user's current interests, but also the impact of recommendations on his future preferences. The solution can be integrated into existing systems without completely redesigning their architecture.
