Two pilots were killed in a helicopter crash of the US Armed Forces in Texas.

An attack helicopter of the US Armed Forces AH-64 Apache crashed in Texas, killing two people as a result of the incident. This was reported on August 12 by the American television channel CNN, citing Cliff Coleman, a representative of the Bell County Sheriff's office.

"An Apache helicopter from the Fort Hood military base crashed in Salado, Texas, at about 13:35 local time, and the death of two pilots on board was confirmed," the publication says.

As a result of the crash, a large forest fire started, emergency services were involved in extinguishing it, it follows from the text. An evacuation of the population was carried out in the area of the incident, but the helicopter did not touch any buildings or people.

Coleman noted that the collision was extremely strong. It remains unknown where the aircraft was flying from and where it was heading.

The Apache AH-64E helicopter is considered to be the most advanced combat helicopter in the world. The four-bladed helicopter is capable of carrying up to 16 Hellfire missiles and 76 aircraft missiles.
