In Kuzbass, a man who had been wanted for eight years hid in his mother's couch

Employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Kemerovo region found a resident of Prokopyevsk, who had been hiding from justice for eight years in his mother's apartment. The man hid in the sofa during the visits of strangers. This was announced on August 12 by the press service of the department.

In 2018, a man was arrested on suspicion of drug distribution, but he fled during the trial. He was later sentenced in absentia under the article on the illegal sale of narcotic drugs to nine years in prison in a high-security colony and put on the federal wanted list.

"Thanks to the use of modern methods of operational investigative activities, the staff of the Federal Penitentiary Service established that the wanted man was hiding in his mother's apartment. If unauthorized persons visited the apartment, he hid in the sofa," the agency said in a message on the VKontakte social network.

According to the Federal Penitentiary Service, only his mother knew about the man's whereabouts, who had previously stated that she had no information about her son. For eight years, he did not seek medical help, had no outerwear and shoes, and earned about 30-40 thousand rubles a month by participating in online computer games. In the near future, a 36-year-old man will be taken to a penal colony to serve his sentence.

The examination confirmed that the materials found in the collar are drugs.
