Russian swimmer Egor Kornev won the final 50 m butterfly at the European Aquatics Championships. The competition was held in Paris on August 11.

The result of the Russian was 22.52 seconds, writes Sport-Express. Frenchman Maxime Grousset came in second with 22.54 seconds, while Belarusian Grigory Pekarsky took third place with 22.68 seconds. During the semifinals, Korenev set a record at the European Championships by swimming the distance in 22.36 seconds.

His teammate, Russian swimmer Ivan Kozhakin, won silver at the European Championships in the 100 m breaststroke, Sport-Express added. The athlete showed a time of 58.68 seconds. The winner was Italian Nicolo Martinengi (58.58), followed by compatriot Simone Cerazuolo (58.90).
