"On this day, the Divine Liturgy is celebrated and after that prayer services can be held with prayers for the consecration of the new harvest," he said.

According to the priest, the holiday is historically associated with the completion of summer agricultural work, including the ripening of fruits, including nuts.

"In the old days, parishioners brought part of the harvest to the temple to thank the Lord for his gifts. However, the meaning of the tradition was not so much in the consecration of the products themselves, as in bringing them to the church as a gift to God," Savastyanov noted.

Orthodox Christians turn to him with prayers, believing in his intercession.

He added that today this custom is gradually losing its former importance, as people's way of life has changed, and nuts and other products are more often bought in stores than grown on their own.

"At the same time, the church does not prohibit the use of nuts either before or after the Nut Savior. The main meaning of the holiday lies in gratitude for the harvest and a meaningful attitude towards the gifts of nature," said the minister of the church.
