Ankara has confirmed its readiness not to allow warships to enter the Black Sea

The Turkish authorities have confirmed their refusal to allow warships to pass through the Black Sea Straits, despite pressure from the states of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). As stated in the government of the country on August 11, the decision was made against the wishes of the countries of the bloc, which seek to expand access to the Black Sea.

"Warships are not allowed in the Turkish Straits. Ankara carefully monitors compliance with the Montreux Convention and does not allow circumvention of it. Turkey continues to strictly adhere to international obligations governing the passage of military vessels through the straits," a source in the Turkish government told RIA Novosti.
