A new automobile plant may appear in Novosibirsk.

The authorities of the Novosibirsk Region are discussing with investors from China the possibility of building an automobile plant that will produce various models, including fully electric ones. The Novosibirsk Region Development Corporation announced this on August 11 at Maks.

The leadership of the regional Ministries of Economic Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade met with the delegation from China, along with specialists from the regional development corporation. The Chinese side was represented by the companies Shandong Uizhui Energy, Resources of the Far East, Henan Shaolin Automobiles, Dandong Huanghai Automobiles, and Li Mi Commercial Vehicles (Hebei).

The topics of the meetings were the readiness of investment platforms, the possibility of obtaining support measures and assistance in the implementation of the project. The delegates visited the Industrial and Logistics Park of the Novosibirsk Region and the Novosibirsk Special Economic Zone.

According to Liu Lianghua, first deputy head of the committee for cooperation of small and medium-sized enterprises within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, such large sites are suitable for the technopark project to attract different manufacturers to organize a full cycle. Anna Vinnikova, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Novosibirsk Region, noted that following the meeting, detailed information about the project is expected from the Chinese side for further work.
