Alexandrova failed to reach the semifinals of the tennis tournament in Toronto

Russian tennis player, 19th racket of the world Ekaterina Alexandrova failed to reach the semifinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto, losing to Ukrainian athlete Elina Svitolina, ninth in the world ranking, in the 1/4 finals. The meeting took place on August 11 and ended with a score 3:6, 6:0, 6:3.

The match lasted 1 hour and 33 minutes. Alexandrova served straight four times, made two double faults and made three break points out of eight. Svitolina scored three aces, five double faults and six converted break points out of eight.

In the semifinals, Svitolina's opponent will be Polish tennis player Iga Schwentek, who occupies the eighth place in the world ranking.
