The earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10 was the strongest in the last 20 years. Anastasia Aliyeva, a Russian woman living in the country, told Izvestia about this on August 11.

"It was probably the strongest earthquake in the last 20 years that has occurred in Colombia. Minor damage was recorded in Medellin, only in remote regions," she said.

Alieva noted that people were very afraid of what had happened. According to her, this is due, among other things, to the earthquakes that occurred in Venezuela.

The girl added that the greatest damage was recorded in the city of Pereira. She clarified that people living in the territory of the settlement said that half of the city was destroyed.

On August 10, a powerful earthquake occurred in Colombia, the magnitude of which, according to updated data from seismologists, was 7.4. Carolina Cordoba-Curi, Governor of the Choco Nubia Department, reported that there were victims and damage to buildings as a result of the earthquake. The Colombian authorities have declared a national emergency due to the earthquake.

The BluRadio radio station reported on the same day that 138 people were killed and 570 injured as a result of the incident.
