The number of earthquake victims in Venezuela has reached 6 301 people. This was announced on August 10 by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic, Jorge Rodriguez.

"Deaths: 6 301," follows from the publication in the Telegram channel.

It is noted that 6,462 people were rescued, and over 73,000 victims are being treated in hospitals.

As a result of the natural disaster, tens of thousands of buildings were damaged, more than 53 thousand objects were examined, the publication says. In addition, 287 houses have been handed over to those left homeless.

The earthquakes in Venezuela occurred on June 24. The epicenter was located 60 km northwest of the city of Valencia, as well as 28 km northeast of San Felipe. The earthquake was the strongest in the country since 1900.

On July 12, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that 22 tons of humanitarian aid had been delivered to Venezuela on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The cargo included basic necessities for residents affected by the natural disaster.
