Compensation to working pensioners for missed indexations from 2016 to 2025 should be paid in a lump sum. This was announced on August 11 by Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia party.

"We are sure that all working pensioners should receive compensation. And you don't have to resign to get this compensation," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to the deputy, the current system for restoring missed indexations after dismissal actually encourages older people to stop working. He noted that during the period of suspension of indexation, a working pensioner on average did not receive more than 468 thousand rubles. At the same time, as the parliamentarian emphasized, in order to return this amount under the current rules, the pensioner would have to resign and receive a pension for about another ten years, not taking into account the impact of inflation.

According to Mironov, such a measure will restore justice, become a significant support for a significant part of pensioners, stimulate consumer demand and allow to retain more workers in the labor market.

Tatiana Golubeva, senior lecturer at the Department of Business, Labor and Corporate Law at the Presidential Academy, announced on August 8 that Russian pensioners who reached the age of 80 in August, as well as citizens with newly identified disability group I and those who support disabled dependents, will receive an increase in pension payments starting in September.
