Yabloko will file a lawsuit to protect its business reputation against the Rodina party

The Yabloko Party intends to file a lawsuit to protect its business reputation against the Rodina party and its leader Alexei Zhuravlev. This was announced on August 10 by the chairman of the party Nikolai Rybakov.

"We will file a lawsuit to protect our business reputation. And not only to the Motherland and its leader," Rybakov told reporters, his words are reported by TASS.

On August 7, the Rodina party appealed to the Supreme Court of Russia with a demand to remove Yabloko from the State Duma elections, canceling the registration of its candidates on the federal list. Prior to that, on August 5, Zhuravlev accused Yabloko of receiving foreign financing from the structures of businessman Mikhail Khodorkovsky (recognized as a foreign agent, included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation).

On August 10, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation removed the Yabloko political party from the election of deputies to the ninth convocation of the State Duma, canceling the registration of its federal list of candidates. Thus, the federal list of the party, previously registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, was excluded from participation in the elections of deputies of the State Duma of the IX convocation. According to a message on the website of the Armed Forces of Russia, the reasons for the cancellation of the registration of the Yabloko party list in the State Duma elections were copyright violations during campaigning and receiving funds from individuals funded from abroad.

Later, the Yabloko press service reported that the party would appeal the decision to withdraw its list from the State Duma elections. According to Rybakov, the decision to expel Yabloko has not yet entered into force. It can be appealed within five days.
