The expert supported the idea of a unified Russian language exam for foreign students

The initiative for a unified Russian language proficiency test for international students may become a serious barrier against illegal labor migrants from Central Asian countries who enroll in Russian universities, but do not actually study, but work in the Russian Federation. Irina Abankina, a professor at the HSE Institute of Education, stated this in an interview with Izvestia.

Many people come to find a job, and after that they even leave the university. Of course, there should be a barrier to this," the specialist emphasized.

She called the idea of introducing a single entrance test "very timely and constructive," adding that many countries have a similar graded test for different purposes: employment, education, etc. The appearance of such an exam in Russia may become the basis for more active work abroad with potential applicants, the editorial interlocutor admitted, acknowledging that while the Russian Federation is in In this area, it is inferior to Chinese universities and universities in Arab countries.
