The sailors made a yacht crossing from Yakutsk to the coast of Kamchatka

A large sailing trip "In the footsteps of the Great Northern Expedition" has been successfully completed in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It was made by the sailors of the Yakut branch of the Russian Geographical Society.

The team consisted of three people: Alexander Gorokhov, the head of the department, Andrey Antipin, the yacht's captain, and Maxim Ivanov, the motorman. They managed to cover 7.5 thousand km on the nine-meter yacht "Ava".

In 2025, the expedition reached Anadyr from Yakutsk, covering a distance of 5,000 km. Now they have traveled 2.5 thousand km to Kamchatka.
