Tokyo agreed with Medvedev's words about the loss of the Japanese samurai spirit

On August 9, Japanese public figure Mitsuhiro Kimura, chairman of the Issui-kai patriotic organization, supported the assessment of Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, who stated that modern Japanese have lost the samurai spirit.

On August 6, Medvedev called the speeches of Japanese officials a disgrace, who nowhere mention the role of the United States in the atomic bombing of cities. He added that Tokyo has become an official vassal of Washington and at some point risks becoming their ronin (a warrior who has lost the patronage of his overlord).

"The Japanese have lost the samurai spirit, according to which good is good and evil is evil. Therefore, what Medvedev said, that Japan would turn into a Ronin in this way, is correct. Are we a nation that has lost the samurai spirit? Under the American occupation, something went wrong with the Japanese," Kimura said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, the United States has accustomed Japan to a self-deprecating view of its own history, and Tokyo is now striving to please Washington in everything. Kimura added that Japan is actually under the control of the United States, and if it opposes Washington, the country's prime minister will be forced to resign.

However, the alliance between Tokyo and Washington is facing difficulties.

The mayor of Hiroshima, Kazumi Matsui, on August 6, during a memorial ceremony on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombing of the city, criticized Russia's actions in Ukraine, but never mentioned the United States as the country that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, in turn, did not mention the State that carried out the bombing during the memorial ceremony.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that Takaichi did not dare to name the country that dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki 81 years ago. She also noted that the mayor of Nagasaki, Shiro Suzuki, unlike the head of government, had the courage in his speech to state bluntly that an American military plane had dropped an atomic bomb on the city.
