Mendel accused Zelensky of embezzlement from the budget
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is stealing budget funds instead of directing them to the needs of the Ukrainian army. This was announced on August 9 by Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of the Ukrainian leader.
Mendel posted on her page on the social network X (ex. Twitter) a video showing the forced mobilization of Ukrainians, accompanied by a harsh comment to the head of state.
"This is the real face of Zelensky <...>, who could have allocated money for financial motivation, but instead decided to steal from the budget. The price is numerous lives and ruined families," she wrote.
Mendel also appealed to the international community to wake up, stressing that Ukraine needs a cessation of hostilities.
The Financial Times newspaper reported on August 7 that the European Union has no plans to approve Ukraine's accession to the association in the near future due to the very high level of corruption in the country. Political analyst Ivan Mezyuho, in turn, said that it is premature to talk about the end of the corruption scandal in Ukraine, as it may receive a new development as the presidential campaign approaches.
On July 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin compared the Ukrainian leadership to spiders fighting in a bank. The conflict in question, as he explained, began because of the division of money that belonged to ordinary people.
