Bloomberg has learned about a fourfold increase in the DPRK's income abroad since 2022

North Korea's revenues abroad have quadrupled since 2022, reaching $22 billion. This follows from data published on August 7 by Bloomberg Economics.

It is noted that despite the imposition of sanctions, the DPRK was able to strengthen its nuclear potential, establish relations with diplomatic partners and increase revenues. It is emphasized that the country's authorities achieved this result without multibillion-dollar foreign aid.

At the same time, the appearance of Pyongyang is rapidly changing: Chinese cars have filled the city and large-scale construction is underway. In addition, armaments are being improved, including two new warships.

Andrey Lankov, an expert on North Korea and director of the Korea Risk Group consulting company, said that the country is in its strongest position in the last 35 years. He also drew attention to Pyongyang's partnership with Moscow and Beijing, comparing it to "winning the lottery."
