Experts warned about fraudulent websites of fake water parks in Russia

Experts from Kaspersky Lab's Global Threat Research and Analysis Center (Kaspersky GReAT) warned on Friday, August 7, that fraudsters have begun using artificial intelligence (AI) to create websites for non-existent water parks and amusement parks in Russia.

The new deception scheme is designed for fans of family and urban recreation. In conversation with Lenta.Ru Experts noted that analysts have identified about 300 fraudulent sites disguised as water parks and amusement parks in different cities of Russia. Users are lured with promises of free tickets, drinks, and other bonuses, and then offered to switch to a private messenger channel, where attackers try to obtain account data or payment information.

Kaspersky GReAT noted that all such sites are made using the same template and are largely created using AI, which allows you to quickly scale the scheme and run hundreds of clones.

Expert Georgy Kucherin advised checking the existence of entertainment facilities through official websites and trusted media outlets, as well as not following suspicious links, especially if they lead to closed channels or promise free tickets and urgent promotions.

Lawyer Anton Pivovarov had warned earlier in the day that fraudsters were collecting Russians' passport data through fake job ads. The data obtained is used for loans, registration of wallets and the creation of one-day companies, writes RT.

The day before, information security expert Taras Tatarinov explained the protection against neural network scammers. According to him, scammers use AI to direct users to fake websites. The expert called for checking the site's certificate, notes 360.ru .

Earlier, scammers began sending mass messages to residents of Russia with an offer to join an alleged house chat in another messenger, referring to the unstable operation of Telegram.

On August 4, the Positive Technologies security center reported that a whole network for spreading fakes had been deployed against Russian citizens. Experts pointed out that it includes more than 120 resources, a significant part of which imitated official news portals, writes NSN.
