Veterinarian Angelina Sirotina told how to replace fumigators so as not to harm pets. In an interview with Radio 1 on Friday, August 7, the expert noted that to protect animals from insects, it is better to use specialized veterinary products developed taking into account the characteristics of the pet's body.

According to her, such sprays are suitable for the treatment of entrance areas and window openings, and thanks to the essential oils in the composition, they do not have a toxic effect on animals.

The specialist explained that such products provide comprehensive protection, scaring away not only mosquitoes, but also flies, ticks and fleas. They can be applied to both a pet and a person before a walk. She added that veterinary sprays are safe even if the animal licks the treated surface, and wormwood spirals can be used as additional protection.

In addition, Sirotina urged to abandon products with questionable composition and give preference to veterinary drugs based on essential oils. The specialist attributed loss of coordination, dilated pupils, and increased salivation to the signs of fumigator poisoning in pets, writes RT.

In July, Sirotina noted that not all fumigators that people use to protect themselves from insects are safe for pets. They may contain substances that are toxic to pets, so it is better to use special veterinary sprays in a pet house. Reformatsky RTU MIREA, warned that a constantly working fumigator could lead to regular intake of insecticide into the air and negatively affect the human nervous system. Children, people with asthma and allergies, as well as pets are the most vulnerable. Cats, birds and small rodents are particularly sensitive to insecticides, Moscow 24 notes.
